AEWC

 

On Wednesday, March 21, 2018, USW Local 550 Vice President-At-Large Jim Key was re-elected as President of the national Atomic Energy Workers Council (AEWC).

The AEWC is based in Washington, D.C. and is operated out of the United Steelworkers Washington, D.C. Legislative Office.

The AEWC Council represents all United Steelworkers Local Unions across the DOE Complex, that are employed by a Contractor at a DOE Environmental Management (EM) Site.

There are 7,200 workers represented by the Council across the nation. 

The represented DOE Sites include Hanford, WA; Carlsbad, NM; Idaho Falls, ID; Erwin, TN; Oak Ridge, TN; Portsmouth, OH;  and Paducah, KY. 

Other AEWC officers elected included

Herman Potter (Ports) as AEWC Vice President,

and Ryan Christinsen (Idaho Falls, ID) as Secretary-Treasurer.

Terms of offices are for 3 years.
